Digitalgig is a new digital music magazine aimed at the growing masses that surf the web hunting for new music.
We know that there are an unbelievable number of fresh faces and urgent sounds out there and we aim to track them down and bring them to the world.
Whoever you are, wherever you are and whatever music you play we want to know about it.
Find the best acts in the UK still operating beneath the radar of the music industry.
A message from the founder:
Through the long dark nights after the death of John Peel it quickly became clear to us that the BBC had obviously and inevitably failed to replace the great man. Not through lack of desire or respect but because of his ability to recognise the importance in music that some would call niche and others would less kindly call noise or even rubbish! This made him essential to the development of British music and his benevolent influence can be heard throughout the decades of his professional life.
It was his openness to the new and unpopular that led so many musicians and listeners to take him to their hearts and truly trust him. The steady bombardment of demos he received and listened to over the years bore testimony to that fact.
With this in mind we began formulating a plan to, in some way, help ease his loss to music. We don't want to replace him (who could?), just carry on his work to bring the best, most interesting music to the people, whether it's likely to go on and sell millions and turn the musicians into household names or be an underground hit with a small, but loyal following.
To achieve this we've built upon our already extensive knowledge of the music industry and are nurturing contacts throughout the media which we will use on your behalf. We will never charge for these services and don't require user subscriptions or personal information for anyone to access them. Only Music Town of the Year will require a valid email address and that's just to stop multiple votes being cast.
We are Digitalgig and we want to make you famous.
