THE SMEARS
LIVE @ ROCKBAR, DONCASTER
Powerful, ballsy, with a hint of riot grrl and early grunge, this all girl band is bringing punk bang up to date with a real no mercy attitude backed up with quality tunes.
Currently promoting their debut album, Hell in High Heels, The Smears delivered a well placed kick right into the heart of Doncaster’s live music scene.
Serving up perfect slices of loud, fast superbly
delivered songs with a side order of aggression, these girls showed the Rockbar how it should be done.
With a venomous vocal delivery, a pounding rhythm section and enough energy to power a small town, The Smears are taking punk, making it their own and showing it’s not just for the boys.
Dishing up an aural assault that left the audience dizzy, delighted and begging for more; this band are really going places.
If they play in a town near you, do yourself a favour and make sure you’re there. You definitely won’t be disappointed. Check them out at:

IGNITION UK
LIVE @ BITTER SUITE, PRESTON
Brimming with the very buzz of life, the raw energy of this band packs a punch that slaps you around the head whilst strumming a tune on your ribcage.
Already creating quite a stir around the Preston scene, Ignition/UK certainly don’t fail to deliver.
Lead singer, Simon Speakman Cordall was a classic mixture of angst and passion as he leapt around the stage and at one point, onto
neighbouring tables. The emotions clearly etched onto his face as he commanded the full attention of the crowd.
Alongside Cordall are bass player Andy Wack, guitarist and backing singer D.C. Hill and drummer Matty J Brown.
At the end of their high energy set you felt that you’d been chewed up and spat out, but in a thoroughly enjoyable way.
Real music fans should watch out for this band. Their talent surely can't go unnoticed for much longer! Catch up with them here at:
